Pros

Fairly flexible scheduling, no lesson planning, manageable amount of students in each class, easy interface for tutoring portal, seemingly permanent access to orientation lessons for future reference

Cons

In spite of being hired for several months, they never actually gave me any tutoring hours, not even as a sub for when other tutors couldn't teach their regular classes. No paid training. Also went at least two months without hearing a single word from them, and what I did hear from them before that was always prompted by me. The people who conducted my interview and my live assessment were both 15 minutes late the sessions which felt pretty disrespectful, especially since I made sure I was a few minutes early just like the instructions in the emails stated. They didn't even mention in orientation when each class program starts so I had no idea they'd leave me essentially jobless for months on end since the contract is exclusive. Hourly pay doesn't cover work you have to do outside of the online classroom and isn't enough to make up for it. Can't negotiate for more pay even if you have the education and experience to ask for it.
