I have been working at Eli Lilly full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good job flexibility, good benefits, good work/life balance. Good community involvement. Company encourages employees to attend trainings, expand knowledge, and actively seek promotions. Lots of new drugs in the pipeline. If we can survive the next couple of years, the outlook is very good.

Cons

Regulatory environment takes some getting used to. Lots of bureaucracy. It is a very slow moving environment, but it is that way by necessity. Future is slightly uncertain, as there are several key drug patents expiring or have expired recently.

Advice to Management

Keep on keeping on. Let's hope some of the new drugs in the pipeline are successful

I worked at Eli Lilly full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Deep pockets; not afraid of using new technologies.

    Cons

Lost the core respect for the "People Element" they used to espouse so nuch. They throw away skilled people like used diapers just to save a few dollars that are then funneled to yet another empty suit VP.

    Advice to Management

Cut the VPs by 75% and hire back the 5000 foot soldiers you stupidly discarded in 2010.

  2. "Innovative Culture"

Career center & career assessment tests. This was my first job. It was very helpful to find out more about myself and how to further develop self.

    Cons

Large. Hard to know what all of your career options are
