I worked at Elsevier full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Cross functional teams allow for high visibility, growth, and movement. Great salary and benefits. International offices allow for geographical movement as well.

Cons

Seems to be almost annual "reorganization". In sales position, constant changing of territories and key client assignments deters strong relationships from being built.

Advice to Management

Create a meaningful sales organization structure and stick with it for 3 years before you change it up. It changes so often that it can't be accurately assessed. No one can ever reap the benefits of the past years' investment.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your customers and employees better. They are not simply a way to increase revenues and profits. If employees and customers are complaining there may be a problem with your message or expectations. Invest in proper systems as a company this large should not be reporting in Excel.

    * Every diffcult to advance beyond sales department as a sales support coordinator

    *Improve the quality of entry level sales support applicants and improve the duties and marketability of the role
