I have been working at Elsevier full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Work-Life Balance
OK salary
Nice peers

Cons

Make a better effort to advance internal staff, as their support is the reason the Company is successful.
Management Associate Programs are really offred to current employees and should be made available to those inside of the Company. Those who suppport the Company would like to have the opportunity to be part of the highly paid group of business leaders (if that is their goal).

I worked at Elsevier full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Trying to be on the cutting edge of medical and scientific publishing in terms of technology and information platforms.

    Cons

People at the Director level and upward have not been selected wisely and are making poor decisions in terms of resource allocation, strategic focus.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to "valuing your employees," allegedly one of Elsevier's core values. I'm in touch with lots of people who are still working there and none of them are happy.

I worked at Elsevier full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Great benefits.
    -Competitive pay.
-The people are smart and hard working and always trying to improve the business by any means necessary, despite limited resources.
-They do tend to promote from within at a decent rate.
    -Very supportive atmosphere.

    Cons

    -limited technology resources.
-tend to spread resources too thin as they develop experience.
    -very corporate/quite office atmosphere.
    -a little catty between departments.
-very slow project development in all departments.

    Advice to Management

24/7 365 org change gets pretty annoying. I understand the industry is changing and the organization is very large but the change process needs to be more transparent and acted on more swiftly.
