I worked at Embassy Suites part-time

    Pros

I worked in their banquet service, and I was referred by a friend. The people there were very nice and I got paid well for serving in weddings and events

    Cons

The work was very physical, and if you are not strong, then it's probably not a good match for you

  2. "frustrating"

I have been working at Embassy Suites full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have good benefits, even for the lower positions. They have a no harassment policy.
They have an open door policy.

    Cons

They make the same mistakes over and over. If an employee is not doing their job, there is
no management to correct it, and they expect you to pick up all the slack. Then they hire new
people, pay them more than you and still expect you to run the department, even though you
have no authority. Then they do not understand why people will not do as you ask. They
gave me a review after a year, and told me I was average and gave me a .15 raise. Still expecting me to do whatever was not done because I am the only one in the department who
cares if standards are met or not. Or who even knows the difference. p.s. They cannot control the harassment no matter what they do because they don't have a manager in that department to see, and even if they did, the harassers never do it in front of anyone except
    fellow harassers.

    Advice to Management

You do not have to tip toe around folks who don't perform. Don't be afraid of your employees. They expect to be asked to do their jobs. Don't expect people who are not in
management to do your dirty work for you. It makes the other employees hate that person,
and you just think that person must be stupid to do all of that for nothing, when in reality, that
person keeps thinking that you are going to realize that they are a valuable asset and do
    something about it.
