Disapproves of CEO

Pros

location in Bermuda is nice to travel to. Travel policy is more than fair.

Cons

Company is more worried about having everything written in emails instead of just getting the job done. Most employee attitudes seem to trickle down from management.

Advice to Management

Stop with all the emails. Listen to your lower level employees and take responsibility when issues arise. Your employee morale is down whether you realize it or not.

I worked at Endurance Specialty full-time

    Pros

Work life balance is good, nice office, CEO is ambitious. Most of the people are really nice, but some absurd personalities in underwriting.

Generous christmas parties and health insurance, company gym membership. Share options for top management and senior personnel.

    Cons

Not much room for progression, few seniors in underwriting are egotistical, mysogynistic, racist and very unpleasant to work with. High employee turnover recently, won't be surprised if there is more.

Lots of Charmin(CEO)'s "mates" in senior management, and there is concern that CEO is surrounded by Yesmans. Checks and balances a concern.

Systems are really old, fragmented and data is useless. It is a company that went through a lot of M&A, but no sense of urgency from management to improve and connect the parts.

CEO continues his shopping spree buying new underwriting teams and individuals into company...thing is their track record appears very questionable. Guess time will tell.

    Advice to Management

Employees need reassurance through this acquisition. Communicate with them more, and work on improving systems. The fragmented data and systems is a ticking time bomb.
