I have been working at Engility full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

In the beginning , salary was just ok, benefits were good. God work/life balance.

Cons

Salary did not jump up quickly enough. Fringe benefits (Chrustmas parties, decent meals for company meetings) declined or got worse with time. Cost of health benefits jumped up in the last year.

Advice to Management

Stop screwing your current employees. They sign on with a certain salary/benefit package that should be grandfathered in with salary compensation when across the board benefit cuts are done.

    I worked at Engility full-time

    Pros

History of good international development work in energy and environment.
Many individual employees are good colleagues. Many left within a few months after Engility formed.

    Cons

Sale of company (IRG) by founders to defense contractor L3 changed the culture; spinoff of IRG and 6 other companies (all serving defense agencies) into Engility in July 2012 left IRG as outlier.
Most upper management very poor communicators, provide little support to managers, favor some and isolate others.

    Advice to Management

If IRG survives within Engility, create an environment that allows all employees to be as productive as possible.

I have been working at Engility full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

In July 2012 it was a great place to work, very rewarding and exciting at the spin off of L3. Hopes were high, only to be dashed when the dust settled.

    Cons

In less than 6 months it has become an unfriendly environment for employees with cuts in benefits managements I don't care attitude, that's the way it is going to be, which has now earned them the reputation of "bottom feeder" in the industry.
Use or Lose vacation policy (not legal in California)
Long term employees vaction accural cut
No match on 401k, and theres more to come.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to employees and lose that condescending attitude towards them. You have a talent pool that can't be replaced, but they will go where they are respected.
