I worked at Engility full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

They appear to be efficient.

Cons

Political hacks in key positions. Lack of communication.

Advice to Management

It doesn't hurt to talk to your employees or be decent to them.
It doesn't help to keep the incompetents.

I worked at Engility full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great opportunities to teach Cadets and share your military experiences.
    - Expected to work 40 hr. week, direct deposits were on time.
    - Work is primarily on the college campus, and depending on the school some Instructors enjoy the benefits of such (reduced tuition, gym, pool, school facilities)
    - Fulfillment in witnessing Cadets grow from new Freshmen to Graduating 2nd LTs.

    Cons

-Salary is "very low" compared to your military counterpart. You do the same job as your military counterpart and get paid much less.
-If you work a year, you'll earn about two weeks vacation. (much less than military)
-The PMS (professor of military science) is like the parent, and you're like the child. You could lose your job if the PMS sends your manager a bad review, regardless if you disagree.
-For those who are not retired military, turnover rate is high because of low salary. Retired military are usually able to manage because this job is typically supplemental income.
    - Not necessarily a con but as an Instructor, you will be tasked to travel to Ft. Lewis Washington or Fort Knox, KY each summer to participate in LDAC/LTC; If you are a family man/woman, this will keep you away from the family for at least one month.
    - You will only be paid for 40hrs regardless if you work more. You earn "a little" extra when you participate at LDAC.

    Advice to Management

    - Communicate better with employees; keep them informed not just on tasks but future plans involving instructors in the company.

I worked at Engility full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Leaving. I improved my health very much. No more nonsense. I'd hate to see the company go under, but I won't be surprise.

    Cons

Management. They lie. They are vindictive and toxic. They say all the right things, but they have no intention of following through. They hire their friends or people they know are shady.

    Advice to Management

My advice to the board of directors is clean house and maybe Engility will survive.
