I worked at Ensco (UK) full-time

    Pros

    Big Company with International market.

    Cons

Management is blind to what it takes to run a $5 billion company. They were okay at $1.5 billion before the merger, but the game has changed. They don't know how to hold people accountable and think anyone can do any job, that is Ensco's culture. Ensco is a only financial play, and not a company trying to build a brand for the future. That is why they pay at the low end of the market and sweeten retirement . How many folks actually retire from a company after 25 years? Not many, so the cost is low.

I have been working at Ensco (UK) full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A strong senior leadership is guiding the company through the current down-market and preparing well to react to the recovery.

    Cons

Senior Management is out of touch with employees, particularly at the front line. A clear lack of understanding of what employees value is not present.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more openly with employees on the strategic direction. It cannot always be 'sorry we have to do this in order to survive'. There is plenty more that can be said without divulging sensitive information.
