Pros

Ability to work under different managers and learn their management styles. Seeing both good and not so good styles helps you develop your own. You can have your hands in the "books" from day one. No question is off limits when you look at the P&L statement with management. You can help create goals and track progress, implement your ideas on how to improve sales. You can help gain new business and maintain the business partnerships we already have, as well as assist with training new hires. Great place to work to get some management experience.

Cons

There is only one way you can get promoted--sales directly to the customer. One way you can bring money into the company is through gaining new accounts. These accounts bring in consistent revenue for years to come. This doesn't count for anything...but a one time sale to a customer that may bring in an additional $150 in a week is the only thing they care about.
If you like a quick sales approach, you will succeed and have a great career at Enterprise. However if you like to build a relationship (like you do when you gain a new account, as I mentioned above), this job is not for you.

    Pros

Experience working in customer service, sales, account management, and marketing from the very beginning. You get to manage revenue flows that are much larger than someone of similar experience might manage. The opportunity to progress within the company early on and to set yourself apart is very easy.

    Cons

The business model is designed to burn through employees and bottlenecks where the money is actually decent. Offices are constantly staffed with enough employees to get by and still pass the overwhelming majority of profits to upper management. All this is done while holding the dreaded customer service scores over the head of branch management. You work your tail off and then gravel to customers so that you can get good customer service scores. Without these scores, it is completely impossible to be promoted, even when your office is less than half staff and you are performing at high profit levels. This could be admirable if the customer service scores were actually realistic. They make a very small number of phone calls to random customers. The statistics would be scoffed at by any statistics professor, but Enterprise regards them as gospel truth.

I worked at Enterprise full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A lot of young people makes for a fun and energetic environment; a lot of potential to move up in the company quickly; autonomy even for lowest-level associates; great sales and customer service experience; at the end of the day the focus is still on the customer, they do a good job living up to their customer service reputation; was a great first job out of college, toughens you up and gives you a lot of direct face time which is a valuable experience to carry to any job

    Cons

Very competitive environment based on sales performance; long days, physical work (on your feet most of the day, often washing cars); low pay at the start, no monetary incentives for perfomance; can be a high-stress environment during the busy season (summer)
