I worked at Epic as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

I had a great experience interning at Epic for the summer of 2013. The compensation was great, the offices were really neat, and I felt like I learned a lot from being there. Epic has a great support staff for interns, and ultimately, they want to see their interns both do excellent work and learn a lot at their time at Epic. It is a good place to start out.

Cons

Epic is not a place where I would want to stay long term. While the internship was an excellent experience, there is little room for career advancement at Epic, and the effectiveness of your team largely depends on your team lead.

Advice to Management

Some company processes and structures are inhibit, rather than benefit, Epic's work.

I worked at Epic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is a ton of room for growth whether you want it or not. In many cases you can have multiple customers managing million dollar implementations.

    Cons

Zero work/life balance. Madison is divided in half by Epic and the townies who typically don't interact. There are a lot of incestuous relationships at work.

    Advice to Management

Allow for shifts in TL pairings without the TL having to leave the company.

I have been working at Epic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - I hear the base pay has increased
    - Food in the cafeteria is good

    Cons

    - Outdated technology like cache and VB6
    - The CEO is like a dictator and decides everything
    - I suspect HR fakes reviews on review websites and salaries. Check out the flowery English!
