I have been working at Epicor Software full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

From a salesperson's perspective, Epicor lived up to what they said they would do. In sales, that can be rare. Company politics and mismanagement usually effect the sales team negatively. But in this case, they got it right.

Cons

They need to do a better job with marketing, particularly with large, strategic accounts. Like many organizations, the marketing and sales departments are not always sync. Things are slowly getting better but there is plenty of room for improvement.

Advice to Management

Expand your markets and improve relations between sales and marketing.

I have been working at Epicor Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

people, immediate management, benefits, free coffee, close to the mall

    Cons

layoffs, mergers with companies, planned layoffs before mergers are complete, worst senior management ever, no company direction, overbilling customers, not a happy place to work, people worrying about losing their jobs all the time, VC won't do anthing about senior management

    Advice to Management

VC should keep all the healthy product lines, and good employees and start a new company. This mess you call Epicor will not surive the next 4 years.

    Pros

-Building is nice, you sit in a cubicle but there is a nice view and lots of windows
    -People are nice and relaxed
-Management is not hard on call center employees to meet goals, they try to make it fun, use contests
    -Ability to move up
-They reward those who have real drive and talent. If you are motivated you won't stay in the call center for very long. It is a good place to launch a career from.

    Cons

-The other call center employees: a wide variety of people and not all of them savory
-because of the relaxed attitude you see a some people talk it up all day and do minimal work, without (seemingly) getting into trouble about it. you can feel satisfied that they probably won't go far in life
-the work can be monotonous, but if you ask for special projects or volunteer yourself, you can get more varied work and that makes it more interesting.

    Advice to Management

Provide more clarity on what is expected of workers in the center.
