I worked at Epicor Software full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some great people here, and depending on the department, compensation can be good.

    Cons

Epicor was acquired in 2011 by a venture capital group, and merged with Activant, another large, similar company. There is still some confusion and lingering politics from that merger. The top priority seems to be making the financials look good on paper, at which point the company will be sold for a profit, or taken public. That's great for the venture capital group, but its not so good for the company in the mid- or long-term. Burnout and turnover in IT are very high, and internal customer service is terrible. There just aren't enough IT folks to perform the volume of work.
PTO accrual stops at 80 hours; even if you can accrue more than that in a year, you have to use it or lose it even mid-year.
The work/life philosophy is work comes first, no questions.

    Advice to Management

Invest in infrastructure, and the people who design and maintain it.

    Pros

Great direct management team and most people are driven to succeed

    Cons

Dependence on many internal departments can be a drag, some lack the passion of others

    Advice to Management

Continue the positive momentum post merger...
