Pros

Fast paced, leaders in their verticals, new senior management understands the need for strong customer support in addition to great software solutions. Do not feel micro managed. They hire professionals and let them do their job. Great support from co-workers and management to help you ramp up to success.

Cons

Formal product and sales training was limited and had to pick up the platforms on own. Sales team and management communicate well though and are supportive of one another so you don't feel like you are on an island.

Advice to Management

Continue to listen and work for your customers. Previous management struggled with this and it's nice to see new leadership who understands the realities of it.

    Pros

Epicor has a very young culture in the marketing/sales department, frequent happy hours/office events make it very easy to make friends as a young professional. The company is growing and there are frequent opportunities for internal promotions. Minneapolis managers genuinely want to see their employees succeed within the company and make it easy to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Great way to get your 'foot in the door' with the software industry.

    Cons

Starting pay is below industry average and informal training requires new employees to extend a lot of effort learning the products and internal processes.

    Advice to Management

More unified training process to make sure all employees are knowledgeable about the products

    Pros

You can work OT, they honor Presidents' Day, HR personnel were always friendly and helpful, health benefits were good.

    Cons

Where does one begin? First of all, the IT infrastructure is a total cluster. You're never pointed in the right direction as to who does what (and this is after asking management), there's a treehouse mentality among the management/Sr. management, they expect you to deliver world class service, yet you're provided meager resources . When it comes to rolling out major apps/features, IT management drops the ball constantly (no announcement to the business beforehand, or my "favorite," have it go live, have end users blowing up your emails asking why did changes occur and not having the answers thanks to management not providing intel (in meetings, emails days before the go-live date) about said app/feature. Team meetings are sporadic, management will go days (if not outright ignore you) responding to a pressing issue unless it's a pressing issue to them. They WILL throw you under the bus without question. Having a Sr. Manager outright tell you that "When someone asks me what my job is here, I tell them my job is to make my manager happy" says all you need to know about how they view you as an employee and as a person. Management will tell you that they're paying you top dollar for a "Sr. level" position, yet the market value says different...VERY different. The merit increase in the company is absolutely a joke (they might as well hand you a roll of quarters). And there is ZERO opportunity to grow and move into other roles within the IT dept. there.

    Advice to Management

NEVER tell an employee that their job is to make their manager happy, ensure the entire business is informed of what's coming well in advance before rolling something out, don't go-live with major IT projects/apps/features and use a catch-as-catch-can method of troubleshooting as this causes way more problems than it solves.
