I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Great Pay and Benefits. Nice campus in Plano.

Cons

Every year they let go of the bottom 10%. Wouldn't have a problem with it but it is uniform over the entire region. If a manager has taken the time to build a group of very high performers, and then he gets a notice that he has to lay 10% off and then rehire someone else, you may not end up with the best talent. It feels like you are always on borrowed time.

    Pros

    Exposure to to lots of people, networking, teaches you how to work under pressure, and how to work under bad boses. Teaches you time management.

    Cons

    No work/life balance if you are in the field. Lots of pressure. Unrealistic performance expectations. Reviews a joke, layoffs every year. Ericsson wants the employee to do all the right things, but in return does not reciprocate. They don't care about "people" , only production, and the moment you are no longer of use to them they invoke the "at will" clause and you're rudely out the door. 90% of training is online

    Advice to Management

    Have your managers get the certifications you want your employees to get so they understand exactly whatthey are pressuring employees for. Ericsson is getting too big for it's britches. Keeps buying companies and laying off people. Your customers aren't happy and looking for how to get away from you.

    Not much work pressure
    Exposure to lot of different technologies

    Cons

    Non Silicon Valley culture i.e. no rewards for hard grinding work
    European management totally socialist in nature
