    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

My paychecks never bounced. The food at the cafeteria was o.k.

    Cons

This company only cares about managers and above. Everyone else (i.e. what they call boot licking pee ons) are deemed to be a commodity which can be replaced at any time. Absolutely no investment in people.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the lazy French expats in Sr. Mgt and get some good management into this place.

    Pros

The best thing about Essilor is the compensation due to the high end products that are sold. The community involvement would be another positive aspect. Pretty decent work/life balance.

    Cons

It may sound like a cliche, but the company is truly a good 'ole' boy network. Essilor acquires a vast amount smaller optical companies, and with that comes the intergration of inviduals who are grandfathered into the company with life time contracts.(Extreme nepatism). Needless to say, it is a total recipe for disaster to incorporate a "mom & pop" philosophy into a corporate structure.
If you are looking for innovation, don't stop here. The company is extremely prehistoric in terms of system applications, and processes. It is difficult to learn anything. No formal training. It is very much a "hit the ground running" type of atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Join the 21st century. The processes are broken. The systems are old. A lot will be lost financially if you don't.
