    Pros

    The majority of deliveries are drop and hook/swapping of trailers. Live deliveries are all "no touch". Local work. (Deliveries out of Tracy, CA are to Home Depot stores throughout the central valley of California, the bay area, and Reno/Carson City, NV.) Home nightly.

    Cons

    In February, 2010, Estenson Logistics, LLC (ELC), switched from an hourly rate of pay with overtime after 8 hours, to a pay per mile system. The pay per mile system has flaws. For example, a delivery to Bakersfield takes 11 hours and you get paid for 450 miles. Two bay area deliveries may take the same amount of hours, yet you get paid for only 300 miles.

    Advice to Management

    Seek out driver input on decisions that affect them, especially decisions that have an adverse affect on driver compensation. Make a better effort to get drivers involved in the decision making process. Promote drivers, or at least give them the opportunity to grow with the company.
