Pros

The people you work with are generally really nice people. The values of the company are practiced. The ongoing training regime for new employees when they come on board is fantastic. There are all the bank holidays that are nice. The company really takes seriously its mission of being a premier ministry banking resource. One aspect I particularly enjoyed was the weekly staff meeting that was really like a mini church service. We had a band of musically talented employees who would lead us in worship, and then either the CEO or a guest speaker would deliver some words of encouragement. A great mid-week pick-me-up.

Cons

The culture supports trying to do too many things at once. Multiple initiatives and cross-functional projects may leave you feeling as though you aren't accomplishing as much as you'd like because you spend a lot of time in meetings.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work.

    Pros

As a faith-based organization, the people at ECCU really care about each employee. You are not just a cog in the wheel; you are valued as a human being as well.

    Cons

At times it felt like the corporate strategy for where the organization was going was not clear.

I have been working at Evangelical Christian Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone who is here works with purpose and passion. Benefits and salary are very competitive, including free use of a gym onsite, generous vacation/holidays, beautiful work environment. Wednesday staff meetings marry faith-focus with great communication. If you are looking to match your professional ambition with your desire to do good works, ECCU would be an excellent fit.

    Cons

Company has legitimately shrunk over the last decade, so each person tends to more than just their role. Will be an advantage once they start to grow again.

    Advice to Management

Current CEO Abel Pomar has brought clear direction to ECCU. Continue the excellent company-wide communication and vision. Add top talent when needed, but also search internally for associates ready for expanded responsibility.
