Pros

QAS makes a point to hire hard-working, hard-playing people, so you will inevitably work with a driven group of people. Most employees are interesting and knowledgeable people. You will always have a sense of the direction the company is headed (according to management). Annual meetings and company parties are often lively, and middle/upper management makes a concentrated effort to meet you when you first sign on.

Cons

Outside of the sales force, advancement is really limited. Certain individuals are clearly marked out for advancement, though not necessarily because they are the highest performers. Everyone else is encouraged to work hard for no raises or bonuses, or pushed into obviously dead-end projects with little-to-no fiscal benefit to the company (therefore no recognition from higher up). You receive regular performance reviews but it seemed clear (in the Tech department) that these had little to no bearing on the decisions that were made for advancement/project assignment. .
Sales team is treated like the star football player at a high school, and often get away with treating everyone else poorly.
Additionally, you would expect more flexibility from a tech company (like the ability to work from home if sick, or dress more casually for those not in sales).
Work/life balance is awful, and the turn-over rate is ridiculously high.

    Pros

You always knew what was coming everyday, so there were rarely any surprises. The work was pretty easy and non-challenging, and my manager was a pretty nice guy. It was never a problem to ask for time off. Benefits are also very good, with 3 weeks vacation and a great health/dental package paid for 75% of the way.

    Cons

Higher levels of management look down on lower level workers, and the the company as a whole is very controlling of the people it employees, whether or not they notice it. Dress code and timeliness are more important than work quality, and they'll fire you with little to no notice if they feel you're under-performing or just not liking the company. On the flip side of things, giving notice of your departure terminates you immediately so there's no reason to even give a two weeks notice and as long as you don't make a huge scene when you quit they don't even really seem to care that you're leaving. Compensation is sub-par, and therefore dealing with all the negatives that come with a job at QAS aren't worth the time and energy required to give it a full effort everyday. The last con of this company is that the products are very inefficient and unreliable, and therefore the customer base is rarely happy.

    Advice to Management

Actually make your employees feel valued, don't just give them free food and beer here and there to make them think that you care. Also don't just use your offices to draw pictures and lists on the white boards, use them to discuss positive changes that can be made and ways to make a very inefficient product actually work well.

    Pros

    None
3 weeks vacation if you can last long enough to take it

    Cons

Managers act like they are the best thing going.
    It's a brainless, pointless software.
Everyday you feel like jumping out the window (located on the 19th floor)

    Advice to Management

There is no advice to give. Its a backwards company with managers who just don't care about anyone but themselves.
