I worked at Express part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The environment was up beat, the staff was friendly and the sales perks for new employees were great.

    Cons

The pay was minimum wage even when starting out with years of experience and had little chance of changing. We were told the hours would increase with sales and pushing for credit card applications but even with sales up the hours were unavailable to the ones making sales. They cared more about the credit cards and the cashier (the only person besides management and sales leader to have full time hours) received most of the applications and therefore received all the hours. Many hours were cut during mid shift even for those of us who worked hard and made many sales. Two hour shifts were commonplace and having hours cut from 16 or 20 hours a week to two or four hours occurred constantly (many times before the start of the new work week arrived).

    Advice to Management

Please try to be fair with the hours and divide them based on actual work and customer service not the amount of credit lines opened. Some people open cards but neglect work and customers.
