I have been working at Express Scripts full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Great company, advancement opportunities, flexibility

Cons

Schedule, bonus structure, no communication from management as to direction company is headed.

Advice to Management

I would like to see better communication from upper level management. There are plenty of email communications sent but there aren't any specific information as to what direction the company is heading in.

I worked at Express Scripts as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

None, but maybe paid for full days when only working half days.

    Cons

I have never been treated with less respect and harassed in which complaints were filed with contractor and managers, but were brushed under the rug and I was told my contract had ended the next day. No communication is an understatement as I had only met my manager about three times and as a group we were left in the dark for over three weeks without work to do. They claim they are a virtual company but nobody wants to help you when you reach out for work. Spend most phone calls being talked down to by account managers and others.

    Advice to Management

Communicate. It isn't hard. Learn to scout talent and not rely on awful contract agencies to hire people that have no idea how to operate computers. I can't stress enough how terrible of a company this is and they made a huge mistake by not having a plan for benefits migration from Medco to Express Scripts. This company will not survive if it continues to allow the current conditions in the workplace to continue.

I worked at Express Scripts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - WHEN they give out bonuses they tend to be pretty good
    - Nice facilities (which is good because you pretty much live there!)
    - State of the art pharmacy

    Cons

    - Lack of advancement opportunities
    - NO work/life balance
    - Obscene turnover rate
    - Very cliquish environment
    - They don't get rid of directors based on performance, they tend to just move them from one department to another...

    Advice to Management

You need to hire more people. Also, look at the retention rate of employees below the Director/Sr. Director level. There are some obvious, glaring deficiencies. It's bad when you ask employees why the moral is so low yet you do nothing to correct it. Just a few thoughts.
