I have been working at Express Scripts full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

has great schedule opportunities; has an excellent work environment; offers good benefits including tuition reimbursement and adoption support; new system changes are in the works for the new combined company

Cons

lots of change coming with the new combined company can be tough if you are resistant to change; opportunities for advancement can be limited depending on the site

Advice to Management

spread the wealth... happy to hear that bonuses are coming back for staff employees and not just management

I worked at Express Scripts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Monday-Friday. (sometimes). Cafeteria had good food.

    Cons

My hours always changed. The auditing of calls was very subjective. The supervisors were always micro managing. If you were on a call too long they would come to your desk and ask why. They were really strict on reaching your metrics. Really hard to take person time off. Very high turn-over in the call center. No associate appreciation incentives. This company was all about numbers numbers numbers….No real care about employees just meeting their goals. Mandatory overtime was always assigned, even 1-2 hours before the end of your shift and if you didn't stay you would get attendance points.

I worked at Express Scripts as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

The IT group had a good attitude, the projects were interesting, and the office STL HQ office facilities were up-to-date. Also had a good worklife balance.

    Cons

Too many separate dept PMO processes which resulted in spending too much time navigating through all the governance red tape instead of using that time to deliver quality scope on-time and within budget and building a stable scalable IT platform environment.

    Advice to Management

Need to streamline the project & portfolio in-take, status reporting, and governance processes and get the CORRECT people with the right PM experience to drive it (not just a PMP cert--but have the practical/hands-on multi-year experience with ACTUALLY managing med-high complex projects or programs). Leadership need to listen to constructive input about what is TRULY required to deliver a scope initiative and have a faster PRO-ACTIVE decision turn-around response to that input instead of stalling to make a decision and then being re-active.
