    I worked at Exterran full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Got to learn ASME Code because I was at the NHR location.

    Cons

    No training. This is not a traditional QE role. You do not need to know anything about SPC, controlled or uncontrolled processes, nor repeatability. You will be expected to know everything on Day #1. There is no work life balance, and turnover is very high. There is no standardization nor appreciation.

    Advice to Management

    Have purchasing and operations investigate why parts are not arriving to assembly. This is not a quality function. Also, every job is custom, so investigating 1-offs is extremely difficult. Train assemblers and make people feel valued, and employee turnover will not be high.

    I worked at Exterran full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

    Good group of people though many have departed. Incentive comp package was decent back in the day but has been eliminated for most.

    Cons

    Bloated Human Resources Department more appropriately sized for Exxon Mobil still surviving and thriving, soaking up SG&A dollars like Donald Trump soaks up sunshine. Anybody with a real (non-HR) job outside of the senior management ranks is vulnerable to being replaced by a cheaper model.

    Advice to Management

    EXTN Stock Price Performance ( last 52-Wk) is -48.46% You obviously don't have enough HR staff at headquarters.
