I worked at Extreme Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A great work environment and some awesome technology.

    Cons

    Periodically experiences downsizing and RIFs.

    Advice to Management

I was RIFd after a financial engineering move left the company in a cashflow crunch. I'd advise being more cautious about those types of moves -- although I was not in any position to pass judgment on whether the financial move was necessary to preserve the company's viability or independence.

    - Good amount of freedom on projects

    Cons

    - Really poor and disorganized infrastructure
    - Poor documentation
    - Tons of layoffs and outsourcing
    - Having a tough time competing with Juniper, etc

    Advice to Management

Get some structure in place. Consider selling the company.
