I worked at Extreme Networks as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Great place to learn Networking Technologies
Hands on with equipments
Good pay
Great Manager
Good perks
Great facilities

Cons

Too many politics
Management needs to delegate more responsibilities to downstream.

Advice to Management

You cannot be certain of how an employee will perform according to assumptions. Delegate more responsibilities and evaluate employee's performance according to tasks assigned. In-house experience is a valuable thing especially with proprietary technologies. Try looking internally for possible talents before deciding to go look outside of company.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Extreme Networks full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Engineers. End of Week Social Events. Flex time.

    Cons

A few Managers (ones that have been there a few years) are not open to newer folks and their ideas. Hard for some new engineers to connect with others. Sales are weak resulting in insecure work environment.

    Advice to Management

We have great existing products. We need to develop the sales channels to sale the products we have. We also need to invent what is next vs just another variant of existing features. What do we want to be known for with our competitors. CEO needs to paint the vision better on where we are heading and target timeframes
