Pros

the company seems to care about it's culture and maintaining the status quo, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your point of view

Cons

input is considered invalid if the management has already made up its mind on an issue, basically just a worker drone

Advice to Management

take a step back from the micromanagement and let your employees show what they can do. drop the strategic tunnel vision unless the only thing you care about is being bought out by a larger company.

I worked at Extreme Reach (More than a year)

    Pros

HR department is very supportive and efficient.

Departments and Managers recognize their strengths and weakness, they recognize the process is the problem not the staff.

Freedom of speech and transparency, they will listen to your opinions.

    Fast growing company.

    Cons

When it comes to technology, they suffer from the "brand new legacy system syndrome" where they do not build technology to last; poor QA/Requirements, scope creep.

    Tons of manual work.

    Slow and resistant to changes.

    Advice to Management

The company needs to invest in their basic foundation to grow faster

I worked at Extreme Reach full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people that I worked with directly were great.

    Cons

From the start when our well established company was bought out by ER we feared that we would be downsized. The company went from 130+ employees down to 50. This fostered an environment that made us all wonder when are we on the block.

It seems like ER came in to just buy our client base and not care about employees, both short and long term.

Head office was like a Big Brother requiring weekly participation in teleconferencing to extol their virtues. Mandatory participation in ER training.
