Pros

Good work and life balance and many opportunities and open doors for you if you show that you are truly interested to grow and be part of the company. Values life-long employments so long-years of service awards are very good and most employees tend to stay for a very long time. It is a very self selective environment/culture wherby if you are willing to spend alot of time on doing on job, then this is the place for you. But if you want to explore many different kinds of jobs before settling, then this is not the right place even thought they give opportunity for horizontal promotions, it does take atleast 2 yr for each movement.

Cons

Takes time to get promoted as many employees in the lower levels fighting for positions in the next level. Also, you are more or less confined within the department you choose to work in as you have to spend atleast 2 yrs before even getting a chance for promotion even if you are the top talent. This may not fare well for many espacially for the new generations that wishes for quick career advancement if they are top talent. Company has lost many good people due to this so hopefully they have done something to try to retain their top talent, perhaps a fast track route for them?

Advice to Management

Take time to get to know everyone beyond their work

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

In my opinion Exxon Mobil deserves this advanced position in all economical reviews (Forbes, CNN Money, Economist...etc). Being the highest net profit after taxes in all industries all over the world for years is not an easy achievement.
It's the perfect place to learn and acquire as much knowledge as you could acquire. It has a very powerful system and very efficient guidelines and procedures.
Environment in Exxon Mobil is friendly. And most of managers and peers are disciplined and well educated.
In Exxon Mobil, the managers empower the employees once they trust them.
The management respects the employees and trusts them.
Moreover, working in Exxon Mobil provides the employee with kind of prestige and social status.
And Finally, Exxon Mobil has the best in class pension plan.

    Cons

Exxon Mobil is process oriented rather than people oriented.
Compensation is good but not competitive.
    Training programs are relatively weak.
Recognition and Awarding needs to be improved

    Advice to Management

In my opinion, Functionalization is a very good way to run bushiness; however it has a serious drawback which is “Employee’s Career Path”, moving cross functional needs a lot of improvement (i.e. internal announcement for the vacancies, monitoring program for new hires, mentor-protégée program…)

    Pros

It's a great company with a good work enviroment. They put attention in every detail, equipment, supplies, etc.

    Cons

They do not recognize the job in a fair way, it's different for every employee and in the same way for the promotions and opportunities. They do not pay the salary that the possitions deserve.

    Advice to Management

They have to give the same chances to all employees and get the salaries leveled with other companies for the same possitions.
