I have been working at FIS full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The people who work there are concerned with getting the job done. They are very understanding of life's situations and offer lots ofsupport in the way of time off, and personal help. They are very interested in your proffesional growth. This is a career, not a job. promptions happen often and from within the company.

Cons

Work can become boring if you let it. Sometimes you work longer than 40 hrs per week.

I worked at FIS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some nice people and the pay is decent.

    Cons

If you want know what hell is like, work at FIS. They will suck out your soul, work you to death, and never say thank you. Nothing you do is ever enough. They don't invest in people or new products. The management team is becoming a bunch of blowhard empty suits, who care more about making themselves look good than the employees...or even the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

Lose the empty suits and get some real management. Stop trying to leverage everything across the entire organization. You can grow quicker if you let the business units operate somewhat independently rather than forcing everyone to share the same resources. Stop being so cheap and invest in resources rather than continuing to cut headcount everytime you have a bad quarter. Build some new products instead of just buying new companies everytime you need to muddy the waters to hide how bad the company is really performing.

I have been working at FIS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great culture - employees are solutions-driven, and we have a positive environment. FIS has good policies and procedures in place, and looks for ways to improve them constantly. There are a lot of cross-training opportunities, and hard work is definitely rewarded.

    Cons

Benefits have steadily declined over the last 10 years. Occasionally home-work life gets out of balance with high-profile clients, but that goes with the IT Industry in general.

    Advice to Management

    paid maternity leave
