I worked at FTD full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Work from home environment, and working with local florists, who are the hardest working people I have ever met. You get to be very close with them, and involved in their lives, and feel a great deal of satisfaction in trying to help their business become better.

The money was good for the job responsibilities you have.

Cons

The has been a lot of senior management turnover, and thus, the direction and focus of the company keeps changing. They say they are a partner of the local florist, but they really are not. There is so much politics involved here that it makes it hard to do your job and maintain any sense of integrity.

The company is not growing, so there is very limited career advancement opportunities.

I worked at FTD full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some very talented people scattered throughout the company that work very hard and understand the meaning of team work.

    Cons

The Director levels seemed to battle against each other, building fiefdoms and engaging in power struggles without adding any value to the overall portfolio. They are very difficult to work with and for.

    Advice to Management

Put the egos in check, and start bring leaders and not bosses. Creating a more positive environment to work in, where everyone drives towards common goals would help retain the high level talent that I witnessed leave on a regular basis.

I worked at FTD full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company does an excellent job of finding smart and talented people.

    Cons

Severe lack of leadership and strategy or stratedgy that's inconsistent with the company's vision/mission

    Advice to Management

Clean house at the executive management level. The company is notorious for indecision, unrealistic expectations of how much time should be spent on a job, poor process, significant spend on projects that will do little to move the needle and lack of commitment towards making progress on the larger strategic projects that are really critical to the overall organizations success (ecommerce and crm redesign). Additionally, the overhaul is needed at the executive level because the people that are in place today, do not know what to do with the talent that they bring in. They do not know how to empower and motivate people. Rather there is a toxic culture that is riddled with finger pointing, personal agendas, and bad politics.
