I worked at FTI Consulting full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Very smart, dedicated people doing a lot of good, interesting work.

Cons

Large enough that it can be inflexible. It's also possible to get stuck doing a ton of work such that work-life balance suffers.

Advice to Management

Need to find some ways to allow for more entrepreneurial flexibility in lower levels of the organization. There are a lot of smart, motivated people who could add more value for clients if they were given more room to maneuver (though I'll admit that striking the right balance in a large organization can be difficult).

I have been working at FTI Consulting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you join the company as a consultant, you'll get an opportunity to work long hours, travel, get compensated well for overtime, learn a lot, and develop some great technical skills.

    Cons

As you go up the ranks, it becomes more of the ole boys club with NYC's boy's club ruling the roost. For good or bad, the culture here is holdover from the Big Four. Compensation becomes more difficult and competitive and the benefits are lacking, especially health care and parental leave. The company can also be very silo: how well you do very much may depend on who is your champion. Finally, with all the acquisitions through the years, the company hosts many disparate types of busiesses, and FTI has no consistent culture or brand in the market.
