I have been working at Facebook full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Facebook truly values the important things in life (to me, at least).

- The culture and dialog is open about everything. Whether it's with your manager, on your team or concerning a company wide issue.
- The amount of power entrusted to employees is huge. You are empowered to go explore and find data, build things, and generally chose the course of action you think will have the most impact.
- Managers force you to go home if you're not feeling well. Miss your kid's all star game to stay at work and you'll get weird looks. Perform your core function well and you have so much leeway in how you spend your time - (how it should be, right?)
- The food is so good.

Cons

- Sometimes it's momentarily discouraging surrounded by such smart, driven, all-around awesome people. And it can be harder to stand out for excellence (despite internal commitment to acknowledging successes in public and private).
- On occasion the community can be overly sensitive

Advice to Management

- Focus on being transparent with users
- Simplicity should be a major pillar of the vast majority of new products
- Keep the user first in all decisions

I worked at Facebook full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful amenities - the food is just outstanding. Everything is home-made and natural or organic. Wide variety with lots of restaurants, and it's all FREE.
Beautiful campus, bicycles are available for either going from building to building or going for a ride in the afternoon
Lots of places to relax or lie down if you need a break
GREAT coffee and a Philz coffee on campus
Sweet Stop shop if you need a sugar lift in the PM
Fantastic help desk for IT issues. Anything you need to do your job is given to you. Laptops and phones are top-of-the-line.
Something is always happening on campus, whether it's a vendor, a celebrity visitor, or Mark Z making an appearance.

    Cons

Work is always abundant and there is a chaotic atmosphere
The feel is always "do it right now"
People are under a lot of pressure to get things done
Atmosphere can be impersonal because you're so "hooked in" to everyone else electronically, that you can work from home very easily

    Advice to Management

Great place to work, keep it up!
