Pros

Good pay, great benefits. Decent amount of vacation time.

Cons

Dark cloud hanging over us. As union employees we feel that the company considers us a liability, not an asset.

Advice to Management

They don't seem to have a business plan. When we were New England Telephone, the customer always came first, now it seems like they weigh the cost against the benefit too much.

    Pros

    Great company benefits. National company. Some terrific front line employees. Rural America focused. Great opportunity to do incredible things with small corrective actions.

    Cons

    Lack of leadership. Lack of long-term vision and planning. Stuck in old technology with no plans of changes. Union refuses to work outside of self-interests. Very low morale company-wide. No rallying cry. Very long delays in implementing new products lines or ideas.

    Pros

    Plenty of energy and support to satisfy the customer.
    Dedicated workforce, for the most part.

    Cons

    Way too political. Many wrong people in the wrong position.
    Dead weight is not addressed.
    FairPoint's direction is murky at best.
    Internal commitments are often missed.

    Advice to Management

    Need better evaluation of who is doing what.
