Poor Management, no pay raises, mandatory overtime

    Pros

The people I worked alongside with, they’re family now and some of my best friends. Pension. But in today’s world, people are no longer just staying for a pension.

    Cons

Losing employees at an insane rate and they don’t care. Pay is subpar now , compared to other counties. They refuse to adjust pay and insurance has gone up—with max out of pockets doubling. Directors and management don’t listen. Tons of Hr rules broken or perhaps just not mainstreamed in all buildings—all county buildings should be held accountable to following county policy . Borderline abusive environment, I know this is a harsh “accusation” but it is true and freedom of speech allows me to say this. I cannot speak for all buildings but the specific building I worked in used fear tactics to make employees follow unsatisfactory guidelines that weren’t always policy which led to a hostile work environment that still exists—I am still in contact with many employees and I did confirm with them that they would also use the word ‘hostile’ before re submitting this per Glassdoor’s guidelines. Mandatory overtime required. Short staffed so citizens have difficulty getting help when calling 911 or waiting for a police officer / firefighter which I believe will become a dangerous situation.
