Not many pros in an environment like this. Friendly people work there, but be careful, always watch your back.
Worst place I have ever encountered in my life. This is not a legitimate university. It is based on fraud, every student that applies, gets accepted. NO credentials are needed, fraudulent documentation is encouraged and is accepted by the university. Management only cares about the dollars they are bringing in. They have lost many valuable people because they do not care about employees. Employees are forced to work overtime (with no pay) and are overworked, because they do not want to hire additional people. Human Resources Department is a complete scam. They do not follow any labor/employment laws. Many of the employees here are previous students of the University, they will do as they are told because of their visa status. Management, including the President, are not qualified for their jobs. Most of them have no prior experience in higher education and many are not able to fully speak English This place will eventually be shut down due to all of the illegal activities.13Fairfax University of America Response8y
Thank you for your feedback. VIU inspects all documentation prior to accepting students, and we take our admissions process very seriously. While some exempt employees have been asked to work additional hours on rare occasions, it was always a choice and they were always compensated for their additional time; working overtime is not permitted at VIU. Additionally, VIU is constantly hiring additional staff to accommodate the added workload due to our growth. The Human Resources department at VIU works very hard to make sure all labor and employment laws are being followed and even conducts training for all members of management to ensure that everyone has been educated on the laws and knows how to handle any situations that arise properly. It is unfortunate that you have not had a positive experience, but we hope that you have some additional experiences soon that may shed a more accurate light on the University.
