Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Family Dollar Stores full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Valuable experience. I cannot think of anything else.

Cons

Unwritten 52 hour (6 day) per week minimum, constant payroll constraints, no vacation for first year of employment, unsafe

Advice to Management

More payroll for managers to give employees. The work load for most FD stores has increased significantly with the addition of tobacco and mclane.

I have been working at Family Dollar Stores full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

We are always paid on time, and do not transfer out of your own area unless you request it.

    Cons

Customers come second while company ordered tasks come first. Micro-managing from the home office from people whom have never done our jobs and couldn't handle doing our jobs.

    Advice to Management

One week out of every year come down to our level and step into each and every store position to see what it is like and what our customers like. This way you will have more information when making decisions that affect the company.
