I have been working at Family Dollar Stores full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Qualified talent has the ability to run their own business with little interference from superiors. The sky is the limit for upward mobility to those that are not afraid of hard work and can truly run a successful operation.

    Cons

Amount of time required on the job to be successful. People making core decisions have been removed from the front lines for too long to be as effective as they could be it they were to spend 2-4 weeks a year seeing what the business is really about at the store level.

    Advice to Management

Retail is simple. Quit trying to reinvent the wheel.
