I have been working at Family Dollar Stores part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great co-workers, generally easy going job.

Cons

Corporate is very strict about payroll so hours are very inconsistent. Never enough time to get the storeroom organized between trucks which is very frustrating. Riding on promises of promotion/raise and seeing nothing.

Advice to Management

Don't be so strict with payroll. Give stores that make a lot of profit more budget do the employees can keep up with the day to day duties. My original store that had personal nightly deposits of around $600 on average had the same payroll as my current store doing average deposits of $1000. It makes little sense.

I have been working at Family Dollar Stores full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

MMMM at this point do not have anything good to say about them

    Cons

Managers are required to work 6 days a week for low pay. when you take the salary and divide the amount of hours worked.. you make much less than the hourly employees. scheduled 52 but worked 70-80 normally. NO FAMILY LIFE. YOUR life is at the store. Even the biggest retailer in the world treats it's managers better.

    Advice to Management

give the stores more hours to run the stores and give the store manager at least every other weekend off. We are not slaves.
