    Pros

    If you are looking for a stable office enviornment, Fannie Mae is a good place to be. Established during the great depression to give potential homebuyers credit when the banks were not willing to lend money, this company is not going anywhere.

    Cons

    Do you really want to tell your friends and family that you work for Fannie Mae? Also, not a good place for contractors looking to get hired on.

    Advice to Management

    Figure out how to better manage contractors.

    Pros

    * Diverse work environment
    * Relatively good mobility across groups/departments/divisions
    * Generally abundant resources ... or wasteful ^.^
    * Successful career growth to mid-level remains possible for lucky hard workers

    Cons

    * Lack of accountability at senior management level
    * Expert opinions are not really honored ... instead faced by personal threat lately
    * Could be hard to navigate the politics even though you intends to be impartial

    Advice to Management

    * Rapid flight of talent should be a big concern for a franchise
    * Develop the people when it is difficult to do much with the future being laid out / debated
