I worked at Fannie Mae full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Benefits
    Above average pay
    Good opportunities for training
    Great diverse environment
Co-workers tend to be very smart/intelligent

    Cons

3 months into starting, there was a massive layoff that affected some people on my team. For anyone starting with a new company, this is a huge red flag. 6 months later, a new round of layoffs, a year later another. Seriously? Even after being profitable?

    Office politics. Those dumb calibrations.

For anyone that works at the main office, the refrigerators are like 100 years old and feel unsanitary.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring if you are also constantly making multiple layoffs.

I worked at Fannie Mae as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

There's parking and good lunch spots nearby.
    The pay is pretty good.

    Cons

It's ALL politics. My manager was downright cruel, and when I asked her why, she said simply, "$h*t rolls downhill." That's what you're signing on for. I was harassed for pumping, and told that I couldn't have as much time as other staff, because they were FTE, and I was a contractor. So, bonus points for supporting working mothers.

    Advice to Management

None. Your ship is sinking, and you've only yourselves to blame.
