I worked at Farmers Insurance Group FCU (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay, good work-life balance, slower paced

    Cons

Where do I begin... I worked in IT support. these are just off the top of my head.

Your management support can turn on you like a rabid dog with no provocation whatsoever...

If your IT project costs less than tens of millions of dollars, you'll get no support whatsoever.

They don't let ANYONE go so there's a lot, and I mean a LOT of deadweight... the people assigned to your projects prolly will not want to do anything, and you'll get the blame.

They spend money on the most ridiculous things... from jackets, pens, to football stadiums.

It's kind of a small point, but health insurance costs are kind of pricey compared to other companies I've worked at.

    Advice to Management

Run the company like a REAL company... encourage people to move on if they aren't producing or not happy. Recognize that there are hundreds of people there that don't do much and DO something about it..
