I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Local boss was great help. Online training was very informative. Able to control hours and level of effort. Fantastic commercials help create positive reception from those who have seen them.

Cons

Rate increase immediately after starting with company, went from competitive to non-competitive in a matter of days. Even with commercials, the confusion with competition was still there. Computer system seemed to be a bit antiquated.

Advice to Management

Seems local management has a hard time getting help from regional managers. Saturation of agents may be at too high a rate.

    I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Benefits were ok and you could not beat working in the field in a home office.

    Cons

    After employees hit a certain age, you will be terminated. After I was terminated I found out that in the years after, many colleagues were terminated due to age discrimination. It is tough to prove. Too many management changes, nobody wanted to take responsibility for the quality or lack there of .

    Advice to Management

    Find out the best in each employee, because I worked with many talented people who were never recognized.

    More Care for Employees that are in a high stress claims environment, Implement better training practices when transitioning to new estimating software.
