I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Pay is barely competitive with other companies.

Cons

Senior leadership has no idea how to run a company. Localized Management is disconnected from the reality of the workload, and work life balance is terrible.

Advice to Management

Stop making everything all about change. Stop looking for buzzwords to try to repackage old ideas to take credit for something you had no part of, and start using common sense when making business decision that impact your employees and customers.

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone in the department is really nice. They welcome experience, great attitudes and hard workers. You start of with great benefits such as 19 Paid Time Off days that rollover at the end of the year if they are unused. The compensation for the positions is fair and raises are generally on par with other companies.

    Cons

Management in the department leaves something to be desired. There are very few opportunities for advancement and there is little guidance from management on how to reach your goals within the company. Other departments within the company are not this way.

    Advice to Management

Come together and develop plans and/or pathways to will allow and facilitate your employees efforts to meet their short term and long term goals with the company. In a time when so few employees are loyal to their employer, taking the time to show your employees that they matter will go a long way to encourage loyalty.

    Pros

if you want to succeed as an agent, you are given support by way of capital, coaching and playbook

    Cons

as an agent, you are an independent contractor but as a Farmers Agent, you are not an island.

    Advice to Management
