    Pros

    1. You may learn a thing or two.

    2. Depending on how you spin it, you can add some bullet points to your resume.

    Cons

    1. Pay

    2. Most of the people working there are rational and hoping to get out, but there are some 'true believers'.

    Advice to Management

Groupthink: is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within groups of people, in which the desire for harmony in a decision-making group overrides a realistic appraisal of alternatives.

I worked at Fastenal part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The job really doesn't take any brain power.
    Decent pay.
Will work with school schedule (sometimes)
It is incredibly difficult to get fired. You would have to actively try to do so.

    Cons

3 interviews required for even the most basic of jobs (which is inefficient).
    ZERO training provided
Management does not follow through on promises
They will not give you pay raises no matter how long you've been there
    Performance bonuses/perks are misguided
Inaccurate measurement metrics used to judge performance
Will promise you assistance/promotional opportunities through phrases like "we promote from within," and "we take pride in our training" however, they will not fulfill those promises.
No incentives for education/tuition reimbursement/ other programs which promote any intelligence in staffing

    Advice to Management

Moral is bad. You know it. The workers know it. The 'open door policy' is only useful if your manager is not highly combative/easily aggravated when you try to talk with him/her. Otherwise, you are fostering an environment of dissatisfied employees with incredibly high turn-over. The fact is, you cannot wait for your employees to point out the problem to you. You must be proactive with moral! Otherwise your safety and production will decrease (which is the problem you're facing now).
