I worked at Fastenal part-time (More than a year)

Pros

-Learned a lot
-Met a lot of people
-Never boring

Cons

Although it's never boring, you will work very hard most days. Very lean staff.

Advice to Management

There is no reason to cap sales people's commissions. That makes no sense at all. Stop being greedy and you will make more money in the long run, and attract higher caliber sales people.

I worked at Fastenal part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good compensation, freedom to drive business yourself. The company has a good reputation and looks great on a resume. You can learn about many different facets of business and construction.

    Cons

Little training, lots of tiny screws and other inventory to count, management only cares about increased sales. My manager was fired the first week I arrived.

    Advice to Management

I had a summer job there, maybe not enough experience to say about upper management. Store managers seemed to not feel like they had the tools to succeed and meet goals.
