I have been working at FedEx Office full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Fantastic Benefits. Some perks with other companies such as cell phone and travel. Bonuses no longer tied to other centers outside of your control. Can advance quickly if willing to relocate.

Cons

Company is too focused on the smallest of details and has a carpet bombing managing technique. If there is an issue in one place, a "solution" is created for everyone even if you have a track record of success and you are made to change. An utter lack of ability to manage to the individual while maintaining the talent of the exceptional. Pay rates have changed and are not in line with a manager who has so much responsibility. Promotions do not net you a financial advancement and there is currently no career path that leads to multi-unit management. Starting pay at the center manager level is laughable unless you are starting out of college and would like to get experience.

Advice to Management

You are bleeding talent with no system designed for retention. Long term goals will be useless if you continue to lose good people.

I worked at FedEx Office full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Company has fair base pay.

    Cons

Culture of company not conducive to selling print in tech sectors or areas where print is no longer a necessity, but a burden. No real connection to upper management who simply wants you to keep trying with no real solution or willingness to change.

    Advice to Management

Use your real talent on the streets and manicure the sells to fit the area and not a cookie cutter approach. Success does not come from remaining the same or selling to each market as if these are the same.

I have been working at FedEx Office full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very competitive pay at management level. Fast paced and good benefits.

    Cons

Work - Life balance for Assistant Managers is non-existent, at least in my experience. Training needs more substance and there needs to be more focus on making their retail easier to manage.

    Advice to Management

Instead of having HR ask "What could any company do to make you leave?" in the onboarding process, have them ask 6 months later. The answer would be quite different and it may make a difference in whether a good worker stays or not.
