Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I have been working at FedEx full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

No Pros. U will b treated like u work in a sweat shop. If u r injured it will b deemed preventable and b yr fault. Mgt expects u to wrk xtra hrs when others r off. Yr hrs will not b consistent and will be cut when mgt doesn't need u. Training for yr job is terrible or doesn't happen.

Cons

Fedex is doing poorly but employees shouldn't b treated so badly. FX needs to return to offering psychological incentives, treat their frontline employees better. U only hear frm mgt. when u make a mistake. Very stressful, very low morale exists and it impacts yr personal life.

Advice to Management

Remember if mgt doesn't come to work the job still gets done bc of hrly employees. Management needs to treat frontline employees extremely better. Improve morale in the work place. Too many managers are miserable and take this out on hrly employees

I worked at FedEx as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Employees are very competent and very willing to help; Contractor rates are competitive; Occasional working from home is allowable, although remote access is limited to email.

    Cons

Very poor physical environment: contractors sit in narrow stalls, not offices or cubicles; lots of noise distraction; wearing headphones all day almost a requirement; Contracts limited to 11 months with no extension or conversions to employment, must leave regardless the impact to the project

    Advice to Management

Re-think the ROI of hiring contractors under such unworkable conditions.

I worked at FedEx full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong brand, good services, great name recognition, easy to pitch to clients, great work life balance to have a good home life

    Cons

ever changing sales goals/ focus - lack of transparency in showing/explaining numbers, treated like children in inside sales environment - negative environment

    Advice to Management

hire stronger inside sales managers - not ones who lead by fear and intimidation
