I worked at FedEx full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, however the benefits were not the same for FedEx Office as they were for the FedEx's parent company. Training was good and on=going, both on=line and occasional classroom training. Advancement opportunity was great, they truly promote from within.

    Cons

On the FedEx Office side, FedEx did not involve the opeartions side in any decesions they rolled out that could affect their customers or co=workers. Unrealistic goals were set for stores to achieve in the area of sales, again this is where involvement would be helpful. Store management would have been able to offer information that should have been considered when setting budgets for their areas (local economy, competition, etc.). Too much change, SOP's would change weekly, I would describe it a the spagetti test. They would roll out a new policy or process and not wait long enough to test the process before changing it again (throw spagetti at a wall and not wait long enough to see if it would stick). They lost credability with co-workers and made it difficult to manage and hold co-workers accountable with the constant changes.

    Advice to Management

Limit the amount of changes you roll out to quarterly when possible and INVOLVE opeartions in decesions which directly affect their customers and co-workers.
