I have been working at FedEx full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The training is very intense, you come into your job knowing FedEx in and out. Flexible work schedule. Good starting salary. They put a lot of time and effort into understanding that you are an employee and not a number. Acting as a consultant instead of a sales professional.

Cons

Very limited opportunities for advancement without moving. Collaboration with different internal contacts can be difficult.

Advice to Management

Management can become stagnant, haven't performed duties of the job in many years. Need to re-do the job again so they can understand challenges.

I have been working at FedEx full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Different couriers all working together to get the work done.

    Cons

Read "Independent Contractor (Current Employee) Florence, KY". Very helpful insight as to the roots of the problem at FedEx - they have ******completely**** you could say "washed their hands clean" of driving responsibility by pushing everything onto contractors...but then stopped compensating them for everything. Belts have been tightened at every step. You're not compensated for your time AT ALL, most every location pays couriers PER DAY, so if you're out 15 hours, your pay is god-awful and possibly below min. wage depending on where you live.

    Advice to Management

Get real about *who is representing you* out there in the field. People talk...once they realize how cheap FedEx corp is being on contractors/contractors staff they'll stop approving of the company as a whole and bring business elsewhere.
