I have been working at FedEx full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

It's a good, physical job that is rewarding when you step back and see how much you do in a day. Every day is different, with changing challenges and new experiences. The company always hires from within so if you're willing to work hard and climb the ladder this is a great opportunity.

Cons

The hours will destroy your social life. Although it's normal for a salary position to work more then forty hours a week it's when the hours happen during the day that is the killer. My current position is from 1 P.M.-10 P.M. Mon-Fri so forget going out at night with spouse, family or friends during the week and doing all of your errands in the morning. The other option is from 10 P.M.-6 A.M. which may give you the better part of your evening back but it takes a certain type of person to do a job this physical on a third shift schedule.

Advice to Management

The people below you produce the results that make you stand out so don't forget about them. Although it's an absolute fact they won't succeed without you the same can be said for the other way around. There is a lot of turnover in this industry so develop your people and motivational skills to get people up to speed quickly and keep them around.

I have been working at FedEx part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Started in college, that was the biggest plus. Set hours and good benefits, specifically for students.

    Cons

After a while, you begin to feel not really wanted. And although they say they hire internally it really takes quite a bit for any sort of relocation.

I have been working at FedEx part-time

    Pros

Good teamwork is a great thing to look forward to on the job, but thats about it. Personal Growth is good on if you consider working their for a few years. Get into management all others jobs are a waste of time if your looking to make some serious money.

    Cons

Alot of negative things about the job. Peak season is highly frustrating and munch of the lack of effort. Peak season involves the heaviest freight during the city. Peak season is between october and january mostly the holiday season

    Advice to Management

I advise management to keep their workforce happy with more competitive wages and better benefits. Higher wages and fix the job share time frame.
