Pay could be more competitive, not a lot of room for opportunities once you get to a certain level, so you’re stuck in the same pay band, even though your work definitely increases with experience. Unless you have plans to become a director or VP, there’s just not much room for growth without completely switching to a different department and even then pay bands are the same.
